A community food program · Brooklyn, NY
Twenty-one meals a week, delivered with dignity.
Beyond Meals brings a full week of freshly cooked, medically tailored meals to families navigating illness, loss, or hardship — packed into one box, delivered to your door, at no cost to you. No lines, no pantry visits, no explaining yourself twice.
A program of SCN — cooked in partner kitchens across Brooklyn, packed to each household's dietary needs, and delivered quietly, week after week.

The program
Real cooking, for weeks that ask more of you.
Beyond Meals is a food-support program from SCN for Brooklyn households going through a serious illness, a recovery, a new baby, a loss, or financial strain. When the week is already heavy, dinner shouldn't be one more thing to carry.
Each week, our kitchen partners cook complete, family-style meals — braised mains, grain bowls, soups, and sides — and pack them chilled into a single insulated box. You heat, you eat. Nothing to assemble, nothing to stretch, nothing to explain.
Every box follows your household's profile, so the food that arrives is food your family can actually eat. And it keeps arriving, week after week, for as long as the program is part of your family's support.
- Medically tailored
- Boxes are planned around real health and dietary needs — allergies, diabetic-friendly and low-sodium cooking, family size — not a one-size pantry bag.
- Delivered with dignity
- A plain, insulated box at your door, addressed to your household. To the block, it looks like any other delivery — because it is.
- Part of SCN care
- One piece of wider community support, coordinated quietly with the people already helping your family.

Behind every box
Cooked nearby, by people who care.
Meals are cooked fresh each week in partner kitchens close to home — planned by our team, prepared in small batches, and packed the day before delivery. Volunteers and staff check every box against the household's profile before it goes out the door.
“Support should feel like a neighbor dropping something off — not a line to stand in.”
How it works
One box a week, and dinner is handled.
Beyond Meals runs on a weekly rhythm: menus planned around the families it serves, meals cooked nearby, one box packed and delivered. Nothing to shop for, nothing to assemble, nothing to explain.
- The menu
Planned around real households
Every menu is built by the care team around the households it serves — family size, allergies, diabetic-friendly and low-sodium cooking. Not a one-size pantry bag, and not the same week twice.
- The kitchen
Cooked fresh, in small batches
Partner kitchens nearby cook complete, family-style meals — braised mains, grain bowls, soups, and sides — the day before delivery. Real cooking, not shelf-stable filler.
- The box
Twenty-one meals, packed chilled
A full week of breakfasts, lunches, and dinners is packed into one insulated box and checked against the household’s profile before it is sealed. You heat, you eat.
- The week
At your door, again next week
The box arrives on your delivery day, plain and addressed to your household — to the block, it looks like any other delivery. Then it comes again, week after week, for as long as it helps.

Who is the program for?
Brooklyn households going through something heavy — a serious illness or recovery, a new baby, a loss, or a stretch where money is tight. Beyond Meals sits alongside the rest of SCN’s community support, so the food shows up as part of the care a family is already receiving.
What actually comes in the box?
Twenty-one meals — a full week of breakfasts, lunches, and dinners for the household. Family-style mains, grain bowls, soups, and sides, cooked fresh, packed chilled, and ready to heat. Nothing to assemble and nothing to stretch.
Does it cost anything?
No. Beyond Meals is fully covered by SCN and its community partners. There is no fee, no co-pay, and nothing to pay back — ever.
Can the meals fit our dietary and medical needs?
Yes — that’s the point of the program. Each household has a profile covering allergies, medical diets, and family size, and every weekly box is packed against it, from diabetic-friendly to low-sodium cooking.
Where are the meals cooked?
In partner kitchens close to home. Menus are planned by the care team, cooked in small batches the day before delivery, and every box is checked against the household’s profile before it goes out the door.
How long does the support last?
Boxes arrive weekly for as long as they help. The care team checks in periodically to make sure the support still fits the family’s situation — it ends when it is no longer needed, not on an arbitrary date.
Is my information private?
Yes. Household details are seen only by the small team that plans menus and coordinates deliveries. Boxes are plain and addressed to your household — nothing about them says “program.”
Meals above and beyond
Twenty-one meals. One quiet delivery.
Beyond Meals is a full week of freshly cooked, medically tailored food, brought to Brooklyn families at no cost — because a hard week should still have dinner in it.
